Starting Point
Do you speak to international audiences? The seminar will provide essential criteria for excellent presentations in science. Apart from quick content inputs by the trainer, this seminar will focus on your 5-10 minute presentations followed by high-level feedbacks, including video analyses.
You will be stimulated by many practical exercises and also learn from the best speakers around the world, including brief analyses of TED talks.
Aim
After this training you will be able to
- develop your personal public speaking style,
- prepare professionally prior to your speech,
- vary your presentation intro and outro and succeed in discussions,
- engage your audience and highlight your professional expertise.
Content
- Stick in the mind of your audience and take your message home
- Share personal stories and anecdotes
- Create vivid images on slides and with stories
- Communication style matches intercultural needs
- Excellent international presentations: Learn from the best speakers around the world
Methods
Input quickies, presentations, high-level feedback, video analyses, impromptu presentations, revision of presentations. Max. number of participants: 8.

Format | Online course. Participants receive login data by email prior the course. |

Fees | For employees, assistant lectures, registered doctoral candidates at TU Berlin and junior scientists at HU, FU, Charité, the course is free of charge. If you do not belong to these groups of people, please contact wwb@zewk.tu-berlin.de for information on fees. |
Requirements | Participants should have English language skills at least the B2 level. It would be desirable that participants can use video and audio to engage. Participants please keep a laptop/PC with video and audio function or a webcam and headset ready. |
Completion | Assuming successful participation, you receive a certificate of attendance. |
Certificate | Applicable for certificate Science Communication. |
