ZEWK has developed a certificate for international visiting scholars and all teaching staff who already teach or start to teach in English entitled „TiE BAC: Teaching in English – Basic and Advanced Courses“.
Teaching in English and teaching an international student group who are also mostly non-native English speakers is a challenge when it is not your first language!

Contents
We give you an introduction to theoretical and practical didactic aspects of university teaching and learning, focusing on activating and innovative methods and media in basic and advanced courses.
Methods
Interactive courses, short lectures, demonstration, exercises, single tasks, group work, presentations, discussion, exchange of experience, application and transfer to daily teaching practice.
Learning Outcomes and Competence Development
Active learning processes and individual teaching practice support you to improve your teaching competences.
Certificate in English
Certificate of participation for each attended course and a cumulative certificate on all courses.
Target Group
Visiting scholars, international researchers and lecturers, non-native English resp. also German teaching staff who are already teaching or supposed to teach in English.

Continuing Education Programme (Survey): Center for Scientific Continuing Education and Cooperation (ZEWK)
The Centre for Scientific Continuing Education and Cooperation (ZEWK) offers a wide range of scientific continuing education programs as well as interdisciplinary counselling and cooperation. We initiate and foster cooperation between TU Berlin and external partners from science, economy, the working world and society. The work of ZEWK and its units also reflects TU Berlin’s mission statement of sustainable development.
Our interdisciplinary continuing education program includes courses in German and English, counselling, coaching and offers to support networking in the following four areas:
- Lehren und Lernen
- Wissenschaftskommunikation
- Arbeits- und Managementtechniken sowie
- Forschungsmanagement
Our programs are created for scientific staff and junior scholars at TU Berlin and demand-oriented, science-based also for the practical realities of their professional fields.
