Time Management for PhD Candidates
WWB-Area | Learning field
Work and management techniques | (Self-)Management in science
Starting Point
Your workdays are getting longer and longer – but your to-do list isn't getting any shorter. You work a lot and feel productive - but there never seems to be time for your own research and projects. Does this sound familiar?
Now please imagine that things could be different: That you could manage your time in a way that allows you to make progress with all your projects – and that at the same time you could have leisure time that you actually really use to relax, without feeling guilty.
Aim
In order to improve your time and self management you will learn:
- to classify and prioritize tasks,
- to know what needs to be done and when do to it; and which tasks can be delegated,
- how to succeed in having enough time for your own (research) projects as well as actual free time.

Contents of this training are:
- Strategic weekly planning, taking into account your individual most productive working hours
- Goal and priority setting
