You would like to improve the quality of your scientific texts and make your writing clear and precise, so that your readers can follow and understand you easily. You would like to learn how to structure your papers for more impact.

You know how to write well-structured professional scientific texts
Content
This course will provide you with input as well as practical exercises to address the following questions:
What is the conventional structure of a research article and its sections, and how do I apply it in my particular field?
- What are my readers‘ expectations and how can I use their perspective to communicate my research findings effectively?
- How do I create a storyline for my research article?
- How do I logically structure paragraphs and sentences in a way that my readers can easily follow and understand?
- How can I improve my scientific language & style?
Methods
Input, practical exercises, reflections, peer feedback, discussions in the whole group and in pairs, Q&A rounds.
Max. number of participants: 12
Notes
Please, bring to the workshop:
- A laptop,
- one page of own scientific text (ideally work in progress, otherwise something that hasn‘t been heavily edited)
- 2 published research articles from your field: one that was easy to read and follow, and one that was rather hard to understand.

Requirements | Participants should have English language skills at least the B2 level. |
Completion | Assuming successful participation, you receive a certificate of attendance. |
