Offerings and Focusses
BANA divides into three focusses:
- Focus: City
Urban development and social living together - Focus: Environment
Currently environmental matters in a global context - Focus: Nutrition and Health
New developments in the fields of health care and nutrition
These three emphases stand under the leading idea of AGENDA 21, which was signed during the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) 1992 in Rio de Janeiro as a global action program by 179 countrys. The goal is to ensure a sustainable development of the world for future generations. This contains a tight interdigitation of environment, economy and social fields as well as a balanced integration of these three aspects to ensure a global sustainablity
Beside seminars and courses targeting these emphases BANA also offers additional seminars and courses targeting natural and technical sciences or the arts and social sciences such as sociology, political science, philosophy, psychology or gender studies for embedding the newly acquired knowledge into a social context.
The particular goal of this course of studies is to achieve skills for post-occupational activities in community relevant fields, e.g. citizens engagement at ones own quarter, commune, at social facilities or for the joint work at CSO initiatives and projects.
