Evaluation of research projects

WWB-Area | Learning field

Research Management | Project Management | Advanced

Starting Point

Impact and outcomes become more and more important for research projects. Both depend on clearly defined research objectives and outputs and the right means of dissemination, outreach, and exploitation activities. But how can we evaluate this? And which aspects do we already have to consider in the design of research projects?

Aim

In order to develop some possible answers to these questions, we will explore:

  • different aspects and objectives of evaluating research projects,
  • specific and measurable research objectives,
  • impact and outcomes and their indicators,
  • the LogFrame, and
  • a toolkit for monitoring and controlling

    Content

    • the life-cycle of research projects and the role of evaluation
    • perspectives and needs of different stakeholders
    • link between research results, research outputs, outcome and impact
    • indicators
    • monitoring and controlling

          Methods

Methods: presentations, discussions, individual and group work, feedback
Work on your own project: materials will be available between the sessions, so that you can use the workshop to work on your project between the sessions
