Slidewriting: Optimize your slides

WWB-Area | Learning field

Science communication | Design | Advanced

Starting Point

Slides are ubiquitous in academia, not only in science communication, but also in everyday research and teaching. Of course you want to convey your content effectively. Then your slides should be understandable and coherent. Having well-structured, appealing slides at hand also gives you confidence as a presenter, lends you persuasive power, and facilitates communication with your audience.  Sounds as if you need to invest a lot of time in creating the slides? With a structured approach, you can accomplish this in just a few minutes.

After this training you will know the quality characteristics of excellent slides, how to structure and elaborate them.

In the theoretical part of this training, you will learn techniques for structuring complex information logically and for designing easy-to-understand slides and storylines quickly and efficiently.

In the practical part, you will then apply these techniques and produce slides and stories for your own work. Ultimately, you will gain a complete draft of your own next presentation.

Besides input, exchange and feedback, the practical exercises with your own slides and stories make up more than 60% of this training. In individual and group work, you immediately implement the newly learned in concept work based on your own research.
          Max. number of participants: 12.

Please have pen and paper ready, because the conceptual work of your slides is all done by hand.

Optionally, you can send an already existing presentation to the trainer before the training at markus.burger@slidewriting.com and receive written feedback.
