Managing conflicts at work - how to make teamwork more enjoyable and effective

WWB-Area | Learning field

Work and management techniques | Scientific work

Starting Point

There are specific challenges in the world of academia as a result of variety, density and time-pressure of the tasks. Conflicts are a natural phenomena when we are working together with others, so it's important to learn and refine our skills in dealing with them. Clarity about goals, issues and intentions as well as doable strategies and finding balance is a great start. When we recognise potential, unravel what's behind the tension, create empathic space and rekindle creativity, we can get past the conflicts and connect back to the resources we need to get on with the job in hand.

Aim

Participants will gain insights into helpful tools and techniques to improve everyday communication in general that can prevent "cold" conflicts and tricky teamwork situations arising, but also slow down the dynamics when "hot" conflicts threaten the effectiveness and pleasure of working together.
